We’re so happy to see Mom in such a nice building.
McGraw House is such a wonderful, clean place to live. The longer I live here the better it gets.
I’ve made such good friends here. I wish I had moved here 5 years ago.
The mission of McGraw House is to provide a secure senior living environment which:
* supports and encourages independence
* provides privacy
* allows individuality
* welcomes diversity
* fosters a sense of community
* enhances the quality of life
McGraw House has a full-time Service Coordinator to assist residents in obtaining necessary services as they age in place. We also have an in-house meal option, serving dinner every day (except Saturday), which can be purchased at very reasonable rates. Residents rave about the quality of the meals and the variety of choices. In addition, we feature special buffets and holiday meals, and always have high attendance at these events. Weekly Teas are a nice treat and offer a chance to get to know your neighbors. The McGraw Times, our monthly newsletter, keeps residents informed of upcoming entertainment, events, weekly grocery trips, and news about the House.
The ‘secret’ is out about how great a city Ithaca is to live and retire in. The March 2005 issue of Kiplinger’s Personal Finance magazine listed Ithaca as one of the best places in the US to retire, based on three criteria:
- Vacation cities with outdoor and recreational activities.
- Urban settings with easy transportation and high quality services
- College towns with cultural and educational opportunities.
I have as much privacy as I want and I can be involved in social activities when I’m interested.
The staff are so pleasant, caring and helpful and the LUBS ladies are wonderful.
We appreciate living in a place where neighbors help each other and are so friendly to newcomers.
